NEW YEARS EVE - Head Banging

My New Years Eve Manicure is a head banging, sparkly, blingy teal colour.
I have gone for jewels galore on the ring finger and I love it!!!
Colour I have used is.................

LA Girl - Rockstar - Head Banging!  and loads of Jewels on the ring finger to say goodbye to 2010, But a big HELLO to a glorious 2011.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
To all my readers.

OPI - Over the Taupe

Christmas day over and another manicure was in order.  Gosh, I have never changed my nail colour so much as I have this past week!  But hey it is fun.  Well I wanted a more subdued, calmer colour on, so I went Over the Taupe - OPI.  This is two coats of colour over Nail Envy of course.  To "bling" it up a little I jazzed up the ring finger with LA Girl - Rockstar - Live on Stage. This had a lovely gold and holographic glitter in it.  I only applied one thin coat and it looked real blingy!  Topped it with Seche Vite.

My Christmas Day Manicure

I was not doing Christmas this year.  And my theme was black!  So my nails also had to be black didn't they?  I can't remember which Black I used, but I did top all but the ring finger with some glitter and sparkle.  This came from the lovely LA Girl - Rockstar - Double Platinum.  There seems to be silver glitter in it as well and a little gold and not sure but maybe some holographic glitter?  As you move your hands the glitter changes colour and you see reds, blues and gold and silver.  It is just stunning

Nails Inc - Monmouth Street

Woo Hoo, start of the Christmas holidays.  I thought I would do another simple Christmas nail art design.  This time using Nails Inc Monmouth Street. Again I only used one thickish coat of the colour, and it covered quite well.  To top it off I used a BM plate to do the green holly design, and just to the ring finger added a little red stone.  Simple but elegant, I thought.
Apologies though, my cuticles and hands are in a dreadful state in these photo's.  The weather has been so cold, and the central heating on all the time, has surely taken its toll.  Must moisturise more.

Santa/Snowman Baby!

This was the last week of school, so I thought I would do a christmassy nail design.  The design on the ring finger is supposed to be a snowman, but most people thought it was santa!  I don't mind.
Anyway, I used OPI Red (a thick one coat, as I was not going to wear it too long), just a regular white and a silver striper pen, ohh and the googley eyes, the kids (and adults) loved these!

Sinful - Whats Your Name

Another December manicure to share.  I am trying to wear colours I have not as yet worn.  This one is another black with dark blue micro-glitter (unfortunately you can't see in the photo's).  Non-the-less it was lovely on. Two coats of colour and topped off with Seche Vite.

Sinful Colors - Hot Spot

I wore this waayyyy back beginning of December (6th).
A beautiful deep blue colour with flecks of miniscule sparkle.  I had longer nails then (have cut them back now).  Sorry for the lack of clean up.

Loved this one.

OPI - Lady in Black

This weekend I wore Lady in Black by OPI on my nails.  I bought two of these beauties at half price about a month back when ASOS had their sale.  It is a beautiful true black.  Lovely in two coats.  Finished off with a coat of OPI top coat for the lovely shine.

OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy

NOTW at the moment is this lovely soft pinky/peach colour from OPI - Coney Island Cotton Candy.  I have had this colour for well over a year now, and it is the first time of wearing.  It is quite sheer and I have put on three coats and you can still see VNL.  I don't think any number of coats would have hidden my NL as I think the tips of my nails are very opaque anyway.  No top coat on here either and it is still lovely and shiny.  I love this colour, so calming and soft.  I needed this as I have an awful sore throat and cough and couldn't bare to wear anything too bright.

GOSH Miss Minty and China Glaze For Audrey

Just a quick update on my manicure of last week.
Here is a quick comparison of Miss Minty by GOSH and For Audrey by China Glaze.
Left is GOSH MM and right CG For Audrey.  I love For Audrey but I for some reason or other prefer GMM.  What about you?

GOSH - Miss Minty

I was in Superdrug last week and I seem to have caught one of the sales assistants eyes!  She remembered me from the last time I was there telling her of my nail polish/lacquer addiction.  She immediately told me that they had loads of offers on most nail brands and that GOSH had some new colours in.  I went straight to the counter and picked up Miss Minty along with two other colours (offer was 3 for 2, not bad).  Anyway I thought Miss Minty could be a dupe for China Glaze For Audrey but think it may be a bit light?  I got it anyway.
so.....   NOTW is this lovely colour by Gosh - Miss Minty or number 597.  Application on first coat looked a bit streaky but with the second it evened out and was opaque, no streaks.  So base coat of OPI Nail Envy, two coats Miss Minty and a top coat of OPI Rapid Dry.
I love this colour, how about you?
p.s.
But before I did my NOTW, I cut back my nails this weekend by half the length!  Last week the length was.......What do you think of the new length?

Nails Inc - Halkin Street

New NOTD is this dark sulty blue manicure.  I am using the lovely Halkin Street by Nails Inc.  Another one of my MANY nail polishes getting worn for the first time!  This is two coats over my Nail Envy (which I use all the time as a base).  This went on like a dream.  I could have gotten away with just one coat as it was almost opaque but as I wanted to wear it for a few days more I put on two.  I topped it with OPI top coat this time and voila.  I love it, how about you?

Tuesday 9 November 2010

Orange Sponge and Flowers

NOTWeekend was an orange sponge effect. I used China Glaze Peachy Keen near the cuticle, OPI It's a bird It's a plane It's OPI for the mid section and OPI A good Man-darin is Hard to Find for the tip section. Again I love this technique as it is just so quick. Anyway, I then applied some nail stickers randomly on all the nails and topped off with a coat of Seche Vite and then some more on the stickers.

The weather here has been awful, wet, windy and dull! So these are the best I could do photo-wise.

Glamour Magazine and Free Nails Inc Nail Polish

I saw this on Nikki's blog, and just had to look for myself.
I went into my local Sainsburys this afternoon and fortunately they still had all four shades! So.... well just had to have them didn't I? £8 for 4 Nails Inc polishes, I did have to have them!

So here we have Savile Row, Jermyn Street, Warwick Avenue and Hampstead Heath.

OPI Rose Petals

Hi there. My NOTD/W is this lovely, sumptuous, romantic shade called Rose Petals by OPI. This is one of my new ones owned by me for quite a while now but it is it's first outing! And I love this shade. A gorgeous dusty pink/taupe? I can't quite make up my mind. Either way I love it.

It was a dream to apply with its ProWide brush, two and a bit strokes and the nail was covered. I would say it is a semi sheer colour. I am wearing two coats and you can clearly see VNL, BUT my nail tips are quite white and so even three coats would not have got rid of VNL. It is topped with Seche Vite for the lovely super shine.♥♥

China Glaze - Evening Seduction

NOTD today is this gorgeous, dark Evening Seduction by China Glaze. It is a lovely dark maroon/plummy colour. It was a little streaky on the first coat (but that may just be my application). The second coat I put on a little thicker and this evened out the colour. Top coat of OPI and viola, dark seductive nails.

LA Girl - Disco Fever

Having seen fellow blogger Nihrida's post yesterday, I thought I would follow suit and paint my nails red.

I have many shades of red but I opted for this one which I had not as yet worn. It is LA Girl from their Disco brites collection - Disco Fever. It is a lovely vivid red. I would have left it at one coat as it went on fairy opaque but I put on two coats and although there is slight VNL, I am ok with that. Weather was awful yesterday, rain rain rain all day. So these are the best photos I could take.
